This is our second time in this park, the first time in January. The park is spotless, check in staff are very pleasant and the facilities are excellent. Most sites are 50 amp, free wi-fi and even in Nov the oranges are edible.
The people in the park were very friendly. Our major complaint was how out of level the sites were. I could have lived with that except that the roads were built up much higher than the sites. Had some scary moments backing into sites as the trailer dropped down over 6 inches while the truck was still on the road, too close to the truck rails for comfort. In one other attempt we found that the landing legs of the fifth wheel (up as high as they will go) were making contact with the ground when the truck was on the road while backing in. We spent over an hour find a place to park and ended up using blocks to raise us 6 inches side to side and 5 inches front to back. They are working on the problem but certainly need to address the problem of the "levels" of their sites. Wi-fi was available at $9.00 a night. No thanks
The site for AOR members were two linked sites, I doubt that I could have gotten out if another rig pulled in. The main problem was the noise, trains ran all night, you would have sworn that they were coming through the middle of your campsite. There appear to be only 16 sites for non-owners. The loop is not made for anything much over 32' looking at the trees on some of the tight corners you could see where there had been collisions. We crossed this campground off our list. This is one lake that should remain lost.
This is an older park and doesn't cater to anything over 30 feet, some of the corners in the park were questionable for anything larger. The sites are close together and the hookups are at the very back of the site meaning that you needed longer sewer hose and electrical cords. The people on site were great, I had an issue with a low hanging branch, I asked they fixed immediately. If you have a boat and want to fish they have a great marina. This park was designed primarily for a fishing crowd so the roads are tight in parts of the park.
A very nice ocean side park, yes there is beach front but I'd rather be back away from the wind in the tree where we still have an ocean view of passing cruise ships. The staff is excellent, kept a close eye on all things. Stopped me when I was walking my dog (on a lease, but he's big and excites some people) and asked about him. We live close and will go back. They have a games room and an adult only hot tub.
One of the things that stand out for us in this park was the staff. I couldn't get over how friendly they were, they helped us back in our 5th wheel and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We had close access to Crater Lake but came back to a quiet well looked after campground, the bathrooms were spotless as were the grounds. We would highly recommend this campground.
